ANN ARBOR, MI — Delta Tau Lambda Sorority, Inc. expresses profound concern over reported acts of violence, intimidation, and harm perpetrated by agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). These acts, as documented by community organizations and legal watchdogs, are not only violations of civil liberties but direct affronts to fundamental human rights.

“No policy or mandate can justify the targeting, intimidation, or inhumane treatment of individuals—regardless of their legal status,” said Dr. Susan Lopez, National Board President of Delta Tau Lambda Sorority, Inc. “At our core, we are committed to the sanctity of human dignity. We cannot stand silent while our immigrant communities live in fear.”

Delta Tau Lambda stands in solidarity with those demanding justice, equity and accountability across all institutions of authority. The Sorority upholds the right of individuals to raise their voices in peaceful protest against systemic injustice and supports all efforts to create a safer, more compassionate world for those vulnerable to state-sanctioned violence.

In light of ongoing demonstrations and public actions, the organization urges all community members to prioritize their well-being. Delta Tau Lambda reaffirms that protecting one’s mental, physical and emotional safety is a vital act of self-preservation and strength—not disengagement.
