Why DTL?

Dulce “Celesté” Badillo Celesté
Fall 23 Epsilon Chapter

“When I first discovered DTL, I was 8 years old. Watching my older sister, who crossed FA14, be so involved, making many memories with DTL, and taking me with her to their events, such as Salute to Latinas, it never occurred to me that I would one day be part of this organization. As I entered college, I felt alone and wanted to find a community I could belong to. Now that I was older, I looked more into DTL, and their values and mission aligned with mine: academic excellence, professionalism, and community service. On my own terms, I pursued membership, and I am forever grateful I did. Since joining, I have grown tremendously. I found myself being involved in ways I never imagined, making positive impacts on the community and serving as a role model for future generations. DTL has guided me into the best version of myself, and I am truly blessed to be part of this sisterhood of phenomenal women who support me and my endeavors.”

Kristal “Zuleika” Rojas
Spring 25 Epsilon Chapter

"The reason I chose DTL was because of the sisterhood and connections that the organization brought to me. When I first met sisters, I remember feeling immediately welcomed and a sense of belonging as soon as I began communicating with them.

I was also drawn into the organization more by our strong commitment and emphasis on community service and academic excellence. These two values have always been extremely important to me and have pushed me even more to want to make a change and impact on the Latino community, as well as other communities of color. DTL also provided me with a way to be able to give back and support these communities in ways I never thought were possible before.

I knew from the moment I met DTL that it was my home and the place where I was always meant to be.”

Luz “Aiyana” Colin, Spring 2017 Spring Chapter

I chose Delta Tau Lambda Sorority, Inc. because I wanted to find a home that reflected not only my values, but also a true commitment to service, scholarship, and empowerment. Mental health, one of our philanthropies, is something that I have navigated my own journey with, so it was especially meaningful to join an organization that acknowledges its importance and works to create awareness and support within the Latino community.

For me DTL, represents a place where women uplift one another, challenge each other to grow, and create lasting change in our communities. I am inspired by the legacy of resilience and excellence that our sisters embody, and I am proud to contribute to this legacy through leadership, service, and cultural pride. Being part of DTL reminds me everyday that our voices matter, our presence matters, and together we can create powerful change.
