Building a strong foundation through community connections, we work in collaboration with diverse women to create opportunities for growth, change, and the empowerment of our community.
Rooted in community and a commitment to personal evolution, Delta Tau Lambda Sorority, Inc. works tirelessly to strengthen the position of Latinas and communities of color in society. As a community-service based organization driven by academic excellence, we unite to create tangible change through strategic collaboration and hands-on advocacy. From spearheading Voter Registration drives to advancing health equity through the American Cancer Society and Susan G. Komen’s Race for a Cure, our members are the role models of today leading others to greatness. By volunteering an average of 500 hours annually and raising thousands of dollars for our charitable causes, we continue to build a strong foundation of resources that empowers the next generation and fosters lasting growth for the communities we call home.
We focus our charitable efforts on Breast Cancer, Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and Mental Health because these are the critical health challenges that most deeply impact communities of color, and we are committed to closing the gap through awareness, advocacy, and action
Salute to Latinas, Fuerza de la mujer Latina
Each year, our chapters across the nation host our signature event, Salute to Latinas—a prestigious celebration dedicated to honoring the accomplishments, strength, and diverse heritage of all women of color. This event is more than a ceremony; it is a journey through our history, a tribute to our present impact and a bold vision of our dreams for the future. With pride, we recognize the trailblazers who have shaped our communities and embodied the spirit of our sisterhood.
Central to this celebration is our commitment to the next generation. During the Salute to Latinas, each chapter awards the Lydia Cruz and Sandra Maria Ramos Scholarship. Established in 1995 by our founding members, this scholarship provides vital financial support to first-year college students and graduating seniors who identify as women of color. By investing in these emerging leaders who demonstrate exceptional community involvement and passion, we empower them to reach for their dreams using education as a tool.
